ECONYL ® - REGENERATED NYLON
ECONYL® is a regenerated nylon fibre made exclusively from nylon 6 waste, including discarded fishing nets and old carpets, that would otherwise pollute the environment. It delivers the same properties and performance as standard nylon derived from crude oil, but reduces global warming impact by up to 90%. ECONYL® can be recycled, recreated and remoulded indefinitely without losing quality, making it a genuinely circular material.
At Inspired Floorcoverings, a large proportion of our commercial carpet range is supplied by ANKER, who manufacture their products using ECONYL® fibres from Aquafil. This means our clients can specify high-performance, top-end quality carpets that are indistinguishable from conventionally produced alternatives, while making a measurably better choice for the environment.
1. Collection
Nylon 6 waste including fishing nets, old carpet, fabric scraps and industrial plastic is sourced globally.
2. Regeneration
Waste is broken down and reformed into ECONYL® granules, with the same properties as nylon produced from crude oil.
3. Manufacture
Granules are spun into yarn, then tufted into carpet tiles with the same performance as any conventionally produced fibre.
4. End of life
ECONYL® can be recycled, recreated, and remoulded again and again; a true closed loop.
5. No compromise
Indistinguishable from conventionally produced nylon in appearance, wear, and functional performance.
CARPET RANGES CERTIFICATIONS
Inspired Floorcoverings’ Mist, Knit, and Austral Lights ranges have achieved high classifications under the Australian Carpet Classification Scheme (ACCS). Established in 1985, the ACCS is one of the most comprehensive ‘all fibre’ carpet grading schemes in the world, classifying carpets according to their performance characteristics.
Carpets are classified by:
- Environmental sustainability
- Grading for residential use
- Grading for contract installations
- Suitability for use on stairs.
Environmental Certification Scheme (ECS) – Level 3
The Mist, Knit, and Austral Lights ranges are certified to ECS Level 3 under the ACCS, confirming a high standard of environmental performance within the Australian carpet industry. ECS certification assesses key criteria including product emissions, raw material considerations, manufacturing practices, and fitness for purpose. Independent verification supports their suitability for commercial projects with environmental and sustainability requirements.
OUR COMMITMENT TO CULTURAL AWARENESS AND AUTHENTIC COLLABORATION
At Inspired Floorcoverings, cultural awareness is an essential part of who we are and how we operate. We believe in listening to community voices, learning from Indigenous knowledge, and contributing to a more inclusive industry built on respect and understanding.
Our values—respect, integrity, and genuine collaboration—guide our commitment to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. This commitment inspired the creation of our Guniimaa Collection, developed in partnership with Tidda Interiors, a proud First Nations organisation. Through this collaboration, we were able to honour cultural stories, celebrate connection to Country, and ensure the range reflects community values in an authentic and meaningful way.
We are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Indigenous partners and are dedicated to continuing our support for projects that uplift and empower First Nations people. The Guniimaa Collection is a reflection of that commitment and our desire to contribute positively to the communities that inspire us.
OUR VINYL RANGE
Our vinyl floor coverings are hard-wearing, durable and designed for longevity and easy maintenance. Featuring a contemporary colour palette, our vinyl floor coverings will complement any commercial or domestic space.
Resilient flooring in Australia sends around 60,000 tonnes of waste to landfill each year, including 9,000 tonnes that have never been walked on. ResiLoop was created to tackle this issue and support the industry’s shift toward a circular economy, starting with installation waste.
Backed by major suppliers, ResiLoop is a commercially aligned not-for profit initiated by the Australian Resilient Flooring Association in 2021 and established independently in 2024.
The program aims to recycle 30 tonnes of flooring waste each month, supplying materials to a recycling partner for garden edging production. With growing supplier support and more collection points, ResiLoop is expanding its R&D to find new uses for recycled materials, reduce landfill, and advance circularity across the industry.

MODERN SLAVERY STATEMENT
Modern slavery can take many different forms such as human trafficking, slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour.
Inspired Floorcoverings acknowledges that even today millions of people fall victim to modern slavery worldwide in a wide range of industries either in the company’s own operations or its supply chains.
Inspired Floorcoverings has a zero-tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery both within its own operations as well as in Inspired Floorcoverings supply chains. Inspired employees have a duty to be alert and to raise any concerns to management or the Human Resources department. All reported incidents will be investigated to ensure compliance with local legislation and Inspired Floorcoverings internal policies.
In line with Inspired Floorcoverings core values, the relationship with all our suppliers is built on integrity and mutual respect. The selection process of independent contractors includes due diligence with respect to right to work confirmation. Similarly, when selecting corporate suppliers, their reputation and compliance with legislation are taken into account.
Inspired Floorcoverings is not aware of any allegations of modern slavery against any of its current suppliers. If allegations arose, Inspired Floorcoverings would take immediate action and report the suspected incident to the relevant authorities.
